Voice of Africa on 15240 kHz

Voice of Africa, Libya heard in English at 1400-1557 hrs with strong signals - causing severe side channel splash to Vatican Radio to S.Asia on 15235 kHz at 1430 hrs onwards. New freq or a replacement of 17725 kHz?

NHK Hindi on 11825 kHz

Starting 14 June 2010 Radio Japan(NHK) is using 11825 kHz in Hindi at 1345-1430 hrs from Tashkent. Reception is very good till 1400 hrs and then slight interference noted from BBC Arabic on 11820 kHz from Cyprus.

News from SLBC

SLBC's Korean Service on 15120 1030-1130 via DW Trinco will cease
temporarily from the 4th of June. SLBC instead starts another hour
of Hindi to India on 11905 kHz via Trinco 355 beam with 200kW
1530-1630 UTC.

Reception reports will be welcome to Engineer AM Services, Sri Lanka
Broadcasting Corporation, P.O.Box 574 Colombo. SLBC in association
with the Union of Asian DXers will QSL all reports on all its SW
broadcasts during June. If the project is successful we will extend
it.

SLBC is also progressing with the installation of a 50kW MW
transmitter in Puttalam on 1125 kHz to beam to South India where
there are large numbers of Sri Lankans who fled the war over the last
30 years, and also to strengthen the coverage to the North of Sri
Lanka.

NHK Bengali on 11965

Starting 23 May 2010 Radio Japan Bengali Service is using 11965 kHz (replacing 6155) at 1300-1345 hrs. Reception is good with faint co-channel noted from Voice of Turkey in Russian at 1300-1355 hrs.

Vatican Radio moves on to 11850 kHz

As from 2nd May Vatican Radio moves onto 11850 kHz replacing 9580 kHz via Tashkent at 0040-0200 hrs in Hindi/ Tamil/ Malayalam/ English (with Urdu at 0025-0040 hrs on Mon,Thu). The other frequency at this period is 7335 kHz continues from SantaMaria.

Now both the morning and evening service of Vatican Radio to South Asia can be heard on 11850 kHz - all via Tashkent.

SLBC on the old 15120

During the past 2 days noted SLBC(Sri Lanka) in English on their age old frequency 15120 kHz instead of 15745 kHz in the morning at 0030-0330 hrs.

New time for DW Bengali morning Service

Effective 14th April(Bengali New Year's Day) DW is retiming their morning Bengali Service at 0200-0230 hrs (instead of 0100-0130) and can be heard on SW 11970 kHz(Trincomalee) and via FM relay from Radio Bangladesh on 97.6 Dhaka, 105.0 Sylhet and 105.4 Chittagong. The evening service on FM relay can be heard at 1400-1430 hrs while the SW service continues at 1530-1600 hrs as at present.
